Resident Income maps. Magenta is rich, cyan poor:

Last week Amy Butler and I saw 'Little Miss Sunshine' at river oaks after Japanese [food] and before the house of pies. The key lime was a little soft that night.
Anyway, the movie was fantastic, and the previews I keep seeing for it make it look like some moronic nightmare. I haven't laughed that hard for a long time.
The hygienist who cleaned my teeth this morning told me that I brush too hard, and that i should stop if i don't want to look like Carly Simon. Gum recession, you see.
I'm slowly making my way through 'For Whom The Bell Tolls'. It's very funny to read literal english translations of spanish. I once made a terrible little faux-browning (they make shotguns, among other things) advertisement. It was a power point slideshow, and basically read: Browning, it's the Heming way.

My favorite one:

Everybody knows that the dice are loaded
Everybody rolls with their fingers crossed
Everybody knows that the war is over
Everybody knows the good guys lost
Everybody knows the fight was fixed
The poor stay poor, the rich get rich
Thats how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that the boat is leaking
Everybody knows that the captain lied
Everybody got this broken feeling
Like their father or their dog just died

Everybody talking to their pockets
Everybody wants a box of chocolates
And a long stem rose
Everybody knows

Everybody knows that you love me baby
Everybody knows that you really do
Everybody knows that youve been faithful
Ah give or take a night or two
Everybody knows youve been discreet
But there were so many people you just had to meet
Without your clothes
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
Thats how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
Thats how it goes
Everybody knows

And everybody knows that its now or never
Everybody knows that its me or you
And everybody knows that you live forever
Ah when youve done a line or two
Everybody knows the deal is rotten
Old black joes still pickin cotton
For your ribbons and bows
And everybody knows

And everybody knows that the plague is coming
Everybody knows that its moving fast
Everybody knows that the naked man and woman
Are just a shining artifact of the past
Everybody knows the scene is dead
But theres gonna be a meter on your bed
That will disclose
What everybody knows

And everybody knows that youre in trouble
Everybody knows what youve been through
From the bloody cross on top of calvary
To the beach of malibu
Everybody knows its coming apart
Take one last look at this sacred heart
Before it blows
And everybody knows

Everybody knows, everybody knows
Thats how it goes
Everybody knows

Oh everybody knows, everybody knows
Thats how it goes
Everybody knows

Everybody knows

Fishing on sunday was fun; i got a little sunburnt, but altogether a most enjoyable day. The coolest thing was shitting a brick when i saw a huge dolphin swimming 6 inches behind a fish I was reeling in, about to gobble it up. i was too quick, and it swam under the boat.
I bought 'The Eraser', Thom Yorke's new solo album. I listened to it in the car today, and it's too early to make any judgements.
I miss Austin a lot. I really miss plucker's. I move back on the 24th and I am like rully rully excited.

I saw this building in Toronto once and it's nice:

My stepmom and little sister returned from Canada today.
ooooooh, i just found out that the 'Alien' director's cut will be playing this friday at the MFAH in the only theater ever designed by Mies Van der Rohe. I think i shall go...
Also the museum will be playing Fellini's oeuvre in it's entirety, of which I will be sure to catch at least a bit.
And I'll have to see a movie at the River Oaks theater before they tear it down...
I read Hunter S. Thompson's 'The Curse of Lono'. It's good, albeit a bit weird, which isn't saying much for HST.

...

I dont want your big french fry
I dont want your car
I dont want to buy no soap
From no washed-up movie star
You are so much louder
Than the show I wanna hear
With your sugarless gum
Gee, but Im dumb
Non-alcoholic beer
Its enough to make a grown man
Blow up his own tv
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me

I heard you the first time
I heard myself say
Seems like the little woman
Is getting bigger every day
You dont have to tell the neighbors
A little silence aint no sin
They already think my name is
Where in the hell you been?
Louder, louder, louder, louder, louder
Constantly
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me
Whoa oh whoa oh
Sweet serenity
Whoa oh whoa oh
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me

Aint it great at the end of the day
When there aint no sound around
Just me and the fence post
Staring each other down
Nothing but a big bunch of nothing
Driving me insane
Cause there aint no voice thats louder
Than the one inside my brain
Hey you go on
Go on and let me be
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me
Whoa oh whoa oh
Sweet serenity
Whoa oh whoa oh
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me
Quit hollerin at me

Tonight I saw 'A Scanner Darkly'. I need to read the book so that I can really understand what the fuck was going on. It was good, though.
I was in my closet the other day and looked down at the basket full of my studio shit and it all came flooding back. Sophomore year is fast approaching. Yippee.

A few pics I've taken recently:
