okay so yeah

So we went down to SoCo tonight for first thursdays, and it was a hoot. Basically on the first thursday of every month, SoCo (south congress [ave.]) stays open late, and there are lots of little tents set up where local artisans and the occasional artist try to sell their crap. The art was not that impressive, but i did get to see some of the cool stores, and the people-watching was some of the best ever. Actually, the bus ride down was the best, there was some homeless looking shmale person asking registered voters to sign his petition to get his name on the ballot for mayor of Austin. While i signed, he spit some game about his ideas for universal healthcare for the city and how i would live to be strong, healthy and 150 years old. I only signed it because he was nice; he hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell. I heard some people talking about him like they knew him, said his name was Jennifer, which caused Armando and I to confer in hushed tones about the possibility of this person actually being a woman. We decided it was probably a man, gentle voice be damned.
Anyway, it was fun (it will be much more fun when i can be drunk like every other fucking person of age there) and we polished it off with some Amy's ice cream (i had flan with walnuts). mm mm good.
This weekend ought to be fun.
I can't wait until spring break. ima shoot some shit.
i really want to see some Ingmar Bergman movies, i've heard they are quite good, and the cover of "The Seventh Seal" is really cool.
I caught "Johnny Cash at San Quentin" on CMT the other night, and i throughly enjoyed it. I'm not really a fan of counrty but Johnny Cash has a sound that appeals to me. And NO, goddammit, i don't want to see fucking Joaquin Pheonix walk the line.
I don't know why i have such an aversion to that movie; it's probably pretty good. oh well.

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I find it very, very easy to be true
I find myself alone when each day is through
Yes, I'll admit that I'm a fool for you
Because you're mine, I walk the line

As sure as night is dark and day is light
I keep you on my mind both day and night
And happiness I've known proves that it's right
Because you're mine, I walk the line

You've got a way to keep me on your side
You give me cause for love that I can't hide
For you I know I'd even try to turn the tide
Because you're mine, I walk the line

I keep a close watch on this heart of mine
I keep my eyes wide open all the time
I keep the ends out for the tie that binds
Because you're mine, I walk the line
