"Unity in the Netherlands"

The last 3 days have been good ones. My mini-hiatus at home was enjoyable, and i renewed my membership to the MFA, so i will be going there every time I am in Houston. I finished my vestment, and it looks good. I totally cheated, though; I used a lot more than the required 6' of paper, as well as 2 different colors. And glue, big no no. But it looks really cool, so i can't bring myself to care. The instructions did say to use the 6' as a starting point, so i think it will be cool. One of the design assistants corrected me when i said something in my relief looked "cool". The word is "interesting", definitely NOT "cool". Shame on me. I've been wearing my glasses about every other day, which is fun, because no one will be able to get used to one or the other. Until I got my new ultra chic glasses, i had a really ugly pair that I never wore outside the house, so it was contacts all the time. Although i really need some clip-ons for the glasses because the sun is just a tad bright. The new pen came in the mail; i played with it all through calculus today, which is just as well because i wouldn't have learned anything anyway. The Dalai Lama will be speaking tommorrow, yay! I wonder if he is already in town, and if so, where is he staying? Would he stay in a hotel, or is there some buddhist temple or something that he stays at? These are questions in dire need of answers. i got some really nice greeting cards that have an awesome Franz Kline painting on them, but of course one of them is on the wall. My dorm room is beginning to look a bit like my room at home: more and more wall space is being covered by art.
I heard a report that approximately 40% of the New Orleans refugees in Houston plan to remain there. FUCKING GREAT! I guess the H-town ghetto is big enough for several thousand more, at least i pray it is. I got a citation for parking in the garage, even though I payed the full price to park. So stupid, these people. Well, it was actually more like a warning; it said that I had to take care of it before leaving the garage or it could become a citation, and of course I didn't see the damn thing until after I was out on the street. Joyous.

C’mon baby, take a chance with us
C’mon baby, take a chance with us
C’mon baby, take a chance with us
And meet me at the back of the blue bus
Doin’ a blue rock
On a blue bus
Doin’ a blue rock
C’mon, yeah

Kill, kill, kill, kill, kill, kill

This is the end
Beautiful friend
This is the end
My only friend, the end

It hurts to set you free
But you’ll never follow me
The end of laughter and soft lies
The end of nights we tried to die

This is the end
