How to stop the drug wars

I just watched Un Homme et Une Femme, and I enjoyed it very much. If I was straight I would be in love with Anouk Aimée. She is a beauty. I started reading a manga series, and so far it's been an interesting little diversion.

Work is good. A little boring but good. I've added a lot of books to my wishlist in the last week. I discovered the gay manga section today, which was rather interesting. Japanimation is too androgynous for my taste, though. Last week a woman cut her wrists in the bathroom, then left the bathroom where she was discovered by my manager. Exciting day that was; too bad i didn't get to see any of the blood. I'm about to finish The Bridge On The River Kwai.

I finished The Shack today; it was quite good. A little cheesy but the message was right on and left me with a new, and refreshing, view of God and God's nature.
In other news, I'm finally employed! I start next week at Books-A-Million downtown in the Houston Pavilions. I've always wanted to work in a bookstore and am now excited.

Life is good. Despite the fact that I have no car, no money, and I live in a halfway house, I'm happier now than I've been in a very long time. AA and its program of recovery is so much more than a way to stop using; it's a new way of life, and I am hooked!
Anyway, next I'm going to read Guignol's Band.

I'm reading The Royal Way, which seems to be out of print. I was lucky to find an old paperback copy in Kona on my last day there. I've found an AA "home group" at the Lambda Center in Montrose. The people there have been most amenable

Checked out some more art today:
Max Ernst in the Garden of Nymph Ancolie
Imaginary Spaces
and also got to check out Rice U's new Brochstein Pavilion, a lovely building by Tom Phifer.
Started to watch Barry Lyndon, which was rather good.
